XR Joensuu invited the Finnish rebels for a regenerative trip to NomadTown resilience centre and Kuhasalo on July 25th and 26th. In addition to the locals there were rebels from Jyväskylä and Helsinki present. The introduction to the centre very concretely showed us, that a life independent of fossil capitalism takes creativity, but isn’t impossible. Our future really can be something else than a town house with all the modern energy-intensive treats. Another way of living is possible and already happening.

The evening continued with grilling in the atmospheric Kuhasalo hut and thinking about how the student communities of Jyväskylä and Joensuu could be best radicalized in climate issues. Something interesting will probably happen over the autumn, so stay tuned!
